A dry scrubber use catalyst to remove toxic components by chemical adsorption on the surface. The adsorption does not depend on pollutant concentration and contact time, adsorption will take place in very short period of time. When the pollutants adsorbed on to the surface, the catalyst will convert the simple chemicals which is non-toxic and can be disposed of easily. The catalyst is to be replaced frequently when it saturated with pollutants. Optional sensor will be provided for indication of catalyst saturation.

In recent years, Government set stringent condition to control emission from exhaust from laboratories. Testing in research laboratories often generates vapors, acids, solvents or VOCs. The vapor produced can be low concentration. However, the vapor will be accumulated over the period of time and often disperse in low-lying areas, there by increasing the concentration above the Permissible exposure Limit and IDLH. Hence it is required to capture toxic gases coming from test vessels and filter before releasing into the room.

The catalytic scrubber works on principle of chemisorption process. Deposition by chemical reaction between reactants. It is a chemical process that deposits thin film of diverse chemical substances. A substrate is exposed to volatile precursors and react to generate required deposit. Simultaneously, the byproducts also generated from the process.  Precursors used to deposit silicon is silane (SiH4).

Hcl gas is colorless, pervasive and corrosive, mostly emitted from process reactors, Hcl storage tanks while filling and laboratory.  Hcl gas emits easily from aqueous solution of concentrated hcl at atmospheric temperature and diluted hcl at higher temperature. The high vapour pressure of hcl tends to emit the fumes.

The main source of SOx emissions is burning of fossil fuel which contains high sulphur component in diesel engine. The high sulphur content fuel is used for marine applications because of its less Hybrid expensive. Switching to low price fuel to high price fuel causes burden to ship owners. This causes the SOx emissions in marine environment, thus disturbs marine eco systems, harms human health and violate the regulations.  In order to control the SOx emissions from ship engines, Apzem designed and developed a hybrid wet scrubber.

The emission of volatile organic compounds from industrial processes are one of the main sources of air pollution. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) is the common solvent used in cleaning process. Large amount of IPA vapors are emitted and directly released into the atmosphere.
