 Portable Laboratory  Dry scrubber

In recent years, Government set stringent condition to control emission from exhaust from laboratories. Testing in research laboratories often generates vapors, acids, solvents or VOCs. The vapor produced can be low concentration. However, the vapor will be accumulated over the period of time and often disperse in low-lying areas, there by increasing the concentration above the Permissible exposure Limit and IDLH. Hence it is required to capture toxic gases coming from test vessels and filter before releasing into the room.

Portable Laboratory Dry scrubber

The vapor produced can be low concentration. Hence it is required to capture toxic gases coming from test vessels and filter before releasing into the room.
  • Apzem developed a portable dry scrubber which can remove hazardous/toxic vapor generates from chemical laboratory. Portable dry scrubber is an unit which pulls the fumes containing toxic gases and particulates from emission source, filters the contaminants and leaves cleaned air.
  • It is designed especially for source capturing of fumes directly without having duct connections. This avoid spreading of vapor to nearby areas. It is capable of removing fumes up to 99 % before releasing into the air. The dry scrubber has pre-filter and carbon filter, which are easily removable for maintenance or renewal when it is saturated.

 

Carbon filter

  • carbon filter is used to adsorb solvents, inorganic and organic vapors. It has large number of pores, provide high surface area to trap/adsorb odor and chemical fumes.
  • The filters will become saturated with pollutants and should be replaced to get efficiency. The efficiency of filter depends on pollutants characteristics and adsorption capacity, usually 99 %.
  • Effectiveness of carbon is not based on carbon quantity but the adsorption isotherm. The higher the adsorption capacity, the more pollutants will be adsorbed on carbon.
  • We use variety of carbon grades in portable dry scrubber depending on chemicals.
